Ashridge is an attractive converted stables, which previously formed part of the Dunorlan Farm. The conversion was completed very sympathetically and there are just 4 dwellings in this peaceful and secluded complex. The house itself has been lovingly cared for by the current owners for the past 20 years and is now presented in good, clean condition. It also comes with the added benefit of a private and mature rear garden, generous double garage, off-road parking and no onward chain.

The front door opens to the generous and welcoming hallway, which creates a successful divide between the living and bedroom accommodation, with the living accommodation being situated to the left and the bedroom quarters to the right. The kitchen, dining room, conservatory and sitting room are all well connected, creating a lovely flow of family friendly accommodation. The kitchen is fitted with attractive cream shaker style cabinets, and has an integrated oven, hob and fridge, and a window to the front of the property, and the beamed dining room that adjoins provides the perfect space for casual dining and entertaining. The sitting room is a wonderful area, with a high vaulted ceiling, plentiful beams and a large fireplace with log effect gas fire. The conservatory has bifolding doors that open to the rear garden and has a peaceful aspect over the lawns and mature borders.

One of the challenges of single storey living can be creating a successful divide between the living accommodation and where one sleeps, but in Ashridge, this is not an issue. We love how the accommodation is laid out, with flexible reception rooms to one side, and bedroom quarters to the other, with the hallway sitting in the middle as a divide. The outside facilities are also excellent, meaning that you have a private, low maintenance garden to enjoy, a large garage for storage and off-street parking for your sole use. All in all, the convenience of the location, the seclusion of the actual plot, and the uniqueness and charm of this wonderfully welcoming house are all factors which we feel really set this house apart.

The characterful and unique nature of this property are what set it apart for us. It is clear that when the original conversion was completed, the developer really thought through how the buildings would all rest together within the courtyard, and accordingly each has a very private and sheltered aspect, helped by the attractive planting which forms the approach to the properties. Once you step inside the house, this charm continues, especially in the vaulted sitting room which is certainly our favourite space in the house. The dual aspect of this room ensure that it is light and airy on summer days, with the log effect gas fire keeping it cosy on winter evenings. The conservatory is also a lovely space in which to enjoy the garden at all times of the year. However, on warmer days, almost the entire back section can be opened up thanks to the bifold doors, bringing the outside fully in.

Ashridge is situated in Beechwood, a small complex of properties just off from the Halls Hole Road on the highly regarded southern side of Tunbridge Wells. The property is located a short stroll from the lovely Dunorlan Park and all the recreational amenities it has to offer, including children's play area and boating lake. Hawkenbury recreational park is also only a short drive away, with its tennis courts and astroturf pitches for hockey and football. There are excellent schooling options in the area, within both the state and independent sectors, including those in the sought-after Kent Grammar system. Tunbridge Wells has a diverse range of restaurants, shops and sporting facilities and the impressive, award-winning Bluewater Shopping Centre is only 45 minutes' drive. If you want to escape to the coast, then the lovely seaside towns can be reached by train or car in under an hour.
