Autumn is the perfect time to immerse yourself in the vibrant hues of Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, just a short drive from Tunbridge Wells. This October, take part in the guided Autumn Colour Walks, scheduled for Sunday 4th, Friday 9th, Saturday 17th, and Monday 26th October, from 10am to 11.30am.

These walks offer a serene escape into nature, led by knowledgeable guides who will take you through a captivating mix of conifers and broadleaved trees as they transition into their autumn splendour. Expect to see vivid foliage, unique fruits, and cones, along with the distinctive scents that define the season.

One of the standout spots on the walk is Marshal’s Lake, where the reflection of dawn redwood and swamp cypress trees create a stunning display of bronze and golden-brown hues across the water.

Beyond the visual feast, these walks are educational too. Guides will share fascinating insights into Bedgebury’s living collections, their history, and their crucial role in conservation efforts, especially in understanding how trees might adapt to climate change.

The walk covers approximately 2.4 kilometres (1.5 miles) and lasts about 90 minutes. While most of the path is on hard-standing stone, some sections may be grassy or uneven, so wearing sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing is advised.

Tickets are £7 per person and must be booked in advance. Meet at the Visitor Centre atrium at least 10 minutes before the walk starts. Please note, dogs are not allowed on these walks, except for assistance dogs, and parking is not included unless you're a Forestry England member.
