The countdown to Christmas Day has begun and if you are looking for somewhere to indulge in some festive fun, Tunbridge Wells has a lot to offer. There is so much to see and do in the run up to Christmas we thought we’d share some of our favourite festive activities.

Enjoy a Christmas-themed afternoon tea

Every year, The Earl Grey Tea Rooms in Southborough host a Christmas afternoon tea, where you can enjoy a variety of delicious Christmas finger sandwiches, pigs in blankets, and mince pies or mini Christmas cake. From 1 December until Christmas Eve, this scrumptious feast is served every day and is the ideal way to get into the festive spirit!

The Pantiles Christmas market

The Pantiles Christmas Market is the ideal way to spend Saturday morning and early afternoon. Featuring a wide variety of local produce, tasty treats, designer clothes and artisan crafts there is something for everyone. With a host of festive themes, guest traders and ever-changing ranges from your favourite regular stalls, there’s no better way to embrace the season in Tunbridge Wells!

Ice skating at Calverley Grounds

Take a trip to the beautiful Calverley Grounds Park which has been transformed into a winter wonderland. Enjoy skating on the ice rink, visiting Father Christmas in his Grotto and indulge in the food and drink stalls, all while enjoying the spectacular views of the beautifully lit park, creating a very special seasonal experience.

Take a trip to the Assembly Halls

Nothing says Christmas more than going to watch a Pantomime with your little ones. This year the Assembly Halls will be hosting Jack and the Beanstalk and you might even see some familiar faces on the stage!

The Polar ExpressTM train ride at Spa Valley Railway

Enjoy a unique and magical journey to the North Pole and back as you meet your favourite characters from the film. Enjoy an immersive theatre experience on the train with lots of treats along the way, as you slowly make your way North. You even receive a present from Father Christmas! Don’t forget to wear your pyjamas and book early as this is popular family event.

Visit Father Christmas in the Royal Victoria Place

Enjoy a magical moment with Father Christmas at the Royal Victoria Place. He has a special gift for every one of his little visitors and take home a souvenir photo to capture the wonderful moment.

We are so grateful to be a part of such a lively and engaged community and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

To celebrate the festive season, we are holding an advent calendar competition.  Head to our Instagram and Facebook pages between 1 and 12 December – follow us and answer the questions to be in for a chance of winning a fabulous prize in partnership with Chapel Down!
