Christmas is a time for giving, and here at Maddisons, we believe in spreading joy and supporting our beloved Tunbridge Wells community. This year, our festive window display proudly proclaimed, “We love where you live and we live here too,” a sentiment that truly reflects our deep connection to this wonderful town.
Supporting Local Charities at Christmas
Our commitment to local charities continued through our Christmas card campaign, where we donated £250 each to three incredible causes: The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre, Taylor-Made Dreams, and the Hall4All Appeal at King Charles the Martyr. These organisations do remarkable work, offering support and creating cherished memories for those in need.
The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre provides a comforting space for anyone affected by cancer, offering everything from a friendly chat to complementary therapies. Taylor-Made Dreams grants wishes and essential services to children with life-limiting illnesses, creating unforgettable moments for families. Meanwhile, the Hall4All Appeal is dedicated to renovating a cherished community space, ensuring it remains a hub for local activities.
Teddy Mayor’s Toy Appeal
We were also proud to support Teddy Mayor’s Toy Appeal by acting as one of the town’s collection points.
For Christmas 2025, the appeal received 650 referrals from local agencies including social services, schools, and churches. Remarkably, every one of those children received a sack of gifts — bringing a little Christmas magic to families across the borough.
Festive Fun Around the Town
We were thrilled to support The Rudolph Runner, which proved to be a roaring success. Travelling through some of the town’s prettiest spots and parks, it was wonderful to hear the cheers as the train passed our office — especially when children spotted one of the reindeer in our window. A truly joyful way to experience the town during the festive season.
Meanwhile, Calverley Grounds once again hosted Skate Tunbridge Wells. The ice rink was as popular as ever with skaters of all ages, while the Bavarian curling sessions added something fun, competitive, and a little different. We were pleased to be one of the rink sponsors and loved seeing so many people enjoying this festive highlight.
As we reflect on Christmas 2025, we are grateful for the vibrant community spirit that makes Tunbridge Wells such a special place. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a memorable festive season. We love where you live, because we live here too.
