Great local primary and secondary schools

A major benefit to the Culverden Down neighbourhood is its proximity to several of the town’s leading schools within both the state and independent sectors, including those in the sought-after Kent grammar system, making it a desirable place for families with children. The following are all within less than a mile away…

Three high achieving grammar schools:

Two outstanding state secondary schools

Two superb primary schools

So, if you live in the area, your child will likely to be able to walk to school!

A choice of restaurants

When it comes to restaurants nearby you are spoilt for choice, with a good variety of restaurants and lovely pubs; there is something for even the fussiest of eaters!

Some of our favourite’s spots are Sankeys (yummy seafood), St Johns Yard (burger heaven!), The Shuffle House (fabulous tapas and pizza), Junahki (delicious Indian food), The Hidden Well (fluffy boa buns) and the Tiger Tavern (great tacos). There are also some great pubs nearby, we love the Beau Nash and the Mount Edgecombe, plus the Glass House for cocktails.

Green spaces

Culverden Down is in close proximity to St Johns Park, where you can enjoy an enclosed play area, tennis courts, bowls green, a small football, a basketball court and a skatepark. The park also leads out to a woodland walk through the Hurst Woods that connects to Rusthall and Speldhurst. On the other boundary of the area, it’s a short walk to the Ridgeway in Southborough, which is popular with dog walkers and has far-reaching views out to the hills beyond Tonbridge.

Café culture

There are some real gems spread across the area so whether you have a free afternoon, need somewhere to work or fancy a coffee morning with a friend, there will be a café which takes your fancy. Some of our favourite local independents are Even Flow and Basil.

Great location

Culverden Down is located approximately 1.2 miles from the town centre and about 1.4 miles away from the Tunbridge Wells main line station, and High Brooms main line station. Access to the A21 is about 3 miles away, for a direct route to the M25 national motorway network, the South Coast and the Channel Tunnel.
