It’s that time of year again – baby chicks, bouncing lambs, chocolate eggs and, of course, the Easter holidays! If you are looking for ways to explore the local area and to keep your little ones entertained, before the chorus of ‘I’m bored’ starts, then look no further! We thought we’d share some of our favourite Easter activities to enjoy with the family in and around our charming Tunbridge Wells town.

  1. Spring Lambing season

There are a lot of lambing weekends across Kent and it’s such a wonderful way to introduce the family to a local farm and to see the new-born lambs. Hadlow College’s Lambing Weekend, Four Winds Farm Lambing Weekend in Penshurst and Kent Life Heritage Farm Park’s Easter activities in Maidstone are a few farms you can visit. Such a great way to enjoy the beginning of Springtime.

  1. Spa Valley Railway

Bring the whole family along to the Spa Valley Railway and watch the Radtastic Theatre company put on an immersive Little Red Riding Hood show. An afternoon packed with slapstick comedy, train rides and chocolate!

  1. Penshurst Place

Enjoy the beautiful Gardens at Penshurst Place, the perfect place for a catch up with friends while the little ones enjoy the brilliant playground. And between the 1st and 16th of April, hop through the Gardens to try and locate the Easter Bunny, collecting clues to the riddles as you go.

  1. Temper Temper

Celebrate Easter by making your own chocolate eggs at a Temper Temper Chocolate workshop for children aged 4+. Great family fun that you know the children will be up for!

  1. The Pantiles

Over Easter weekend why not take a trip to the famous Pantiles Market? With a wide selection of local produce, crafts and handmade gifts, it’s the perfect spot to wander around on a long sunny Easter Bank Holiday weekend, with plenty of lovely cafes such as the Cake Shed and Eggs Eleven to grab a bite to eat.

  1. Hever Castle

Celebrate spring by helping the Easter Bunny find their sweet treats around the Hever Castle Gardens. Or head to a free craft workshop and let your little ones take part in decorating their own egg. As well as the Easter themed activities a visit to Hever Castle in spring offers a great chance to explore the stunning gardens. Enjoy a dazzling display of spring blooms or challenge yourself in the Yew Maze and see how long it takes you to find the way out.

  1. Dunorlan Park

Boating Lake is open for another season from the 2nd of April. Hire a boat or pedalo and enjoy some family fun on the lovely lake. Make sure you keep an eye out for the baby ducklings! You could even grab an ice cream to enjoy in the (hopefully) beautiful weather from Dunorlan Park Cafe afterwards.

  1. Trinity Theatre

This Easter, reserve your tickets for a family performance at the Trinity Theatre. The Pinocchio story will be performed live on stage on 1st of April and a humorous pantomime version of Goldilocks and the three bears will be presented on 5th of April.

We are grateful to be a part of such a lively and engaged community, so follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see what we are getting up to this spring. We wish you a very Happy Easter!
