Southborough Common sits within a conservation area where cricket has been enjoyed for more than 200 years. Further common land including ancient woodland trails can be enjoyed whether you are a runner, dog walker or conservationist. Longer walks can be taken to neighbouring Bidborough and Speldhurst; beautiful villages each with their own country pub. Southborough itself is a vibrant community, with a range of independent retailers, including shops, cafes, restaurants (do try Tallow – delicious!) and hairdressers. The Southborough Hub with its new medical centre, library, theatre/hall, coffee shop, community rooms, and town council offices, together with retail space is within walking distance, as are green open spaces offering recreational facilities and playgrounds in the form of The Yew Tree and Ridgewaye Playing Fields. There are also allotments either side of the fields allowing you to grow your own fruit and vegetables on your doorstep. Southborough is home to a popular primary school and is also within close proximity of the secondary schools in nearby St Johns. It is seen as a great choice for anyone needing to travel, due to its easy route to Tonbridge mainline station and the A21.
